“Best Mariachi Vocalist in New Mexico”

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
We are excited to produce the 2nd Annual competition for the Best Mariachi Vocalist in New Mexico.
There are only 30 slots for vocalists. There are three age groups: 7-18 years-of-age and 19 to 35 and 36 and over. The first ten applications that are received for each age group will be entered into the contest. You will be judged on the following criteria: 1.vocal ability; 2. timing, 3. vocal range and 4. stage presence. Each vocalist will perform (1) one song. Vocalists will have a three minute limit.
There will be first and second place winners in each age category. First place winners will receive $400 and second place winners will receive $200. The event will be on September 22, 2010 at the New Mexico State Fair Villa Hispana from 5:30 – 9:00pm.

There will be a live mariachi group to back you up.
You will inform the coordinator of the song you will sing on this application and the key they are in.
IMPORTANT- A mandatory performance meeting with ALL vocalists will take place prior to the event. The coordinator will contact you with date and time from the information on your application. YOU MUST BE THERE!!
